Test post

This is a test post, to see what it all looks like.  Here’s some code using the code button in the text view:
import os
import sys
print('hello')

There are some handy formatting hints here.
Here’s some code using the [] approach described here.
import os
import sys
print(‘hello’)
And there’s a slightly more involved process for jupyter notebooks described here, which I’ll get around to soon. Simply slurping the text into the wordpress editor doesn’t work, so I may have to try the github gist step.

Now I’m following the instructions here and sticking the html directly into wordpress (start with the simple approach).

But the result looks terrible, not at all like a jupyter notebook! I’ll follow the extra step here and add a bit to my site’s style.css file.

The result is acceptable, but really I think I’ll focus on writing text and put up the notebooks for people to download.
More on the code button

import os
import sys
print('hello')

This is back from the indent.

The discussion here looks like a big winner.

Okay, I’ve installed the crayon code highlighter plugin, and a crayon button has appeared in the wp editor.

This guy here makes latex look very easy.
\int_0^1 f(x) \, \mathrm{d} x
Did that work?
e^{\i \pi} + 1 = 0
Did that?
e^{\i \pi} + 1 = 0
How about that?
